• Do you offer samples of your products for me to test?

  Unfortunately, due to import and transportation constraints, we are unable to offer samples of the products.

• What is the difference between an impregnator and a surface or topical sealer?

  Impregnators, such as Lithofin MN Stain Stop, do not form layers on the surface of the stone. Instead the active ingredients penetrate into the capillaries and form a durable film inside them. Since there is no surface coating, the stones appearance generally remains the same. The slip properties of the stone are unchanged and the treatment should last many years due to it not being worn away.

  Surface or Topical sealers, such as Lithofin MN Slate Seal, form a protective film over the surface of the stone. This film always produces some degree of sheen and will reduce the slip resistance of the surface. Surface products will need to be maintained as they wear down and will occasionally need fully removing and re-applying.

   

• Do I apply the product just to the face of the tile?

  No, the impregnator needs to be applied to the face and edges of the tile (on new installations) to ensure that there will be no staining from the grout which can lead to discolouration (picture framing).

• I am a householder applying the products myself and, after reading the instructions, I am still unsure. Where can I find more help?

• When should I apply a sealant/impregnator?

  Ideally, after installation, once the tiles are clean, fully dry and prior to grouting. This application will aid the removal of grout residues and stop any possible staining or picture framing from the grout pigment or moisture.

  A further application can be made after grouting to seal the grout lines as well.

• Where can I buy your products?

  We do not supply directly to the end user, but have a large network of stockists throughout the UK and Ireland, as well as national mail order companies offering the Lithofin range. Use our stockist search tool to find your local stockist.

• What can I use to remove algae from my path / terrace?

  Lithofin Algex can be used to remove algae and will act as an inhibitor to help prevent re-growth.

• Which product should I use to regularly clean my stone worktop?

  Lithofin MN Easy-Clean is the most appropriate regular cleaner as it will protect and maintain the sealant.

• How do I get more client aftercare cards?

• Which do I apply first, Lithofin MN Stain Stop or Lithofin MN Colour Intensifier?

  If you are using Lithofin MN Colour Intensifier to enhance the colour of your stone, then this needs to be applied before the Lithofin MN Stain Stop.
